He graduated from Wichita State University, where he lettered in basketball, then went on to earn his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in 1978. He completed an internship and residency at the University of Texas in San Antonio and received his cardiology training at the University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Fellowship: Dr. Boxberger is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Intervention.
